Frequently Asked Questions

Can my student attend without parent participation?

NSHC is not a drop-off program or a school, but a co-op run solely by volunteer moms and dads. We offer homeschool students, from preschool through high school, an assortment of academic and enrichment classes and social activities to supplement their homeschooling experience.

What is the minimum age for participation?

Families must have at least one child who is age 5 by September 1st of the year they apply. We do offer preschool and nursery care for younger siblings.

What are your safety guidelines?

We always have two adults assigned to every classroom and each nursery hour. Students are not permitted to traverse the facility without adult supervision. We maintain a closed facility and monitor the one unlocked access point.

We ask that families stay home from co-op if:

Any member of your family has been ill exhibiting: a fever of any amount in the last 24 hours, croup, persistent, frequent coughing (not due to asthma or allergies), sore throat, vomiting and/or diarrhea in the last 24 hours,  has an unexplained rash/skin infection or a continual runny nose that is not clear, for example, milky, yellow, or green.

How much does it cost to become a member?

Each family is asked to pay a once a year registration fee for operational purposes, currently $45. An additional facility fee is required for each quarter attended, currently $45. The quarterly facility fee goes directly to cover our building rental cost. Lastly, each quarter, families will be invoiced for their class fees. Class fees are set by each individual teacher and are meant to be reimbursements for supplies purchased by the teacher, expect $10-$20 per class per child.
